The 70 Galilean-Israelite Disciples

Galatians still speaking a Celtic language in time of St. Jerome (347 - 420 A.D.)

(From The Watchman Reporters Forum)

In this study you'll find the Galatians, the Galileans, the Gauls, the Galacians, those of Galli, Gallia, are one and the same people, just used with a very slight different dialect pronunciation from different areas. All Historical sources as well as the Bible agree very precisely in identifying them. It is a wonder so few people have read what is said about them from the Bible.

The churches of Vienne and Mayence in southern France claim Crescens as their founder, which would support 2 Timothy 4:10 as meaning southern France rather than Galatia in Asia Minor. Archbishop Ussher, referring to Paul’s reference to Crescens in 2 Timothy 4:10, states that Paul meant Galatia of southern France.

The Apostle Philip’s major activity was in Gaul (present day France) according to Isidore, the Archbishop of Serville in his HISTORIA, written about 600AD. This is also verified in the writings of Baronius, Archbishop Ussher, and many others.

Jesus' entire ministry was focused on the Galileans, who He called the "Lost Sheep of the House of Israel" of which He said

He was exclusively sent sent to in Matthew 15:24. (The 11 tribes besides Judah which the Bible says went "North West" to become a multitude of mighty nations to one day fulfill prophecy to bless the world with Christianity.) He hardly left Galilee at all during His Ministry.

Where was Galilee? Any Bible map will show you Galilee comprised all of Phoenicia with great ports along the Mediterranean Sea. Home to the greatest sea-faring peoples of time. The area of Galilee Jesus called the land of Zebulun and Naphtali, which was composed of the greatest Phoenician/Hebrew port of Israel. (Mat 5:13-16)

Our own King James Version Bibles say Paul traveled often to Greece, Italy (Rome), and Spain. If you have the "last chapter" of Acts (which is admitted to be the only book in the bible without an ending) then you know He also went the 30 kilometers to Britain. Many believe in it's authenticity.

If you think about the most well known "Constantine the Great" (274-337AD), who was born in Britain and spent much of His life in Jerusalem, you should really think about when Rome was stronger during the time of Christ. They all traveled those great Roman flat roads diagramed out below, not to mention the great river channels the Celts used for thousands of years through France to the North of Europe and to Britain. In several places in the Bible Paul confirmed he was related to the British Royal family as well. In the First Century you could easily travel from Israel to Britain within within two weeks, primarily by horse carriage.

If they had no problem going to the other end of the mediteranian, I'm sure they could also manage an easy swim or ferry ride to their Galatian brothers in Asia Minor.

Who were these Celtic Peoples "Chosen" by God?

All the seventy elders in the upper room at Pentecost were Galileans:

Act 2:7 "And they were all amazed and marveled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galileans?"

They could tell by Peter's speech he was a Galilean, as they were all so distinct from the people of Palestine.

Mar 14:70 "And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou art one of them: for thou art a Galilaean, and thy speech agreeth thereto." (Everyone knew all of Christ's followers were Galileans).

Would it not be important to discover everything we can about these Galileans? Paul said He wanted none of us to be ignorant of our heritage, where we came from, and our forefathers in 1 Corinthians 10:1. In Isaiah 51:1 we're told "look to the rock from whence we were hewn". We should know our Christian roots.

Jesus proudly stood with and identified with His Galilean Nazarene minority people:

"I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest."Act 22:8

Mat 21:11"This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee."

How was everyone able to tell from far away that someone was a Nazarene Galilean?

Lam 4:7 "Her Nazarites were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk, they were more ruddy in body than rubies, their polishing was of sapphire:"

'Sapphire' in any dictionary reads: "The blue color of the gem sapphire." 'Ruddy' is always "flushing red in the face". So we know Jesus passed the royal blue-blood test.

Even in Strong's Hebrew Dictionary #119 for ruddy it says it's red hair, and can turn red in the face due to a fair complexion. "Fair skin" is always associated and noted as you will read below.

Strong's #119 reads: 'adam aw-dam' to show blood (in the face), i.e. flush or turn rosy:--be (dyed, made) red (ruddy).

GALATIA - GALLIA - GALLI - GAUL BEING ONE AND THE SAME.

We know the bible says Jesus was related to David. David was very well known for a fair complexion, very red hair and blue eyes: 1Sa 17:42 "And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance." As we see the Philistines also persecuted the white race, as it is so hated today.

Go to any bookstore and get the Strong's Concordance out. It's guaranteed any bible bookstore has at least 100 copies of this dictionary. Look up Strong's #119 quoted above, as the word for Adam Man.

It would be good to read what the Galileans ancestors ancestors looked like.

Here's what David and Solomon looked like:

Song of Solomon 5:10 "My beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand. "

1Sa 16:12 "And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he."

Yes not only all the Apostles were these foreign white Galilaeans, but even all the seventy elders in the upper room that received The Spirit on Pentecost were Galileans:

Act 2:7 "And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?"

ALL except for one of them, who's last name Iscariot is the name of an Edomite town according to the first century historian Josephus:

Jhn 6:70 "Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?" (There were very few Galileans in Palestine in those days, and everyone could tell the difference unmistakably. Jesus didn't want the multitudes, and many times turned them all away, He said He was only sent to His sheep of the Lost House of Twelve Tribed Israel, not the one tribe called Judah / Jews. See Matt 15:24. When His disciples would ask why he would speak to the multitudes in parables but speak to them plainly, He said "..ONLY UNTO YOU IT IS GIVEN TO KNOW THE MYSTERIES OF GOD...")

GALATIA - GALLIA - GALLI - GAUL (ONE INTERNATIONAL NAME OF THE CHIEF CELTS)

"Galatia" the "Gallia" of the East; Roman writers call its inhabitants "Galli," just as Greek writers call the people of ancient France "Galatia." (Young's "Analytical Concordance," p.380) Romans called present day France "Gallia" -- the same name as the province of Asia Minor. Later this was called "Gaul." As these two regions were peopled by the same people, they were called by the same name.

Dr. William Smith in his "Bible Dictionary" writes: "Galatia, (land of the Galli, Gauls). The Roman province of Galatia may be roughly described as the central region of the peninsula of Asia Minor, bounded on the north by Bithynia and Paphlagonia; on the east by Pontus; on the south by Cappadocia and Lycaonia; on the west by Phyrgia. (Encyc. Brit.) It derived its name from the Gallie or Celtic tribes who, about 200 B.C., made an irruption into Macedonia and Thrace. It finally became a Roman Province. The Galatia of the New Testament was really the 'Gaul' of the East. The people have always been described as "susceptible of quick impressions and sudden changes, with a fickleness equal to their courage and enthusiasm, and a constant liability to that disunion which is the fruit of excessive vanity. The Galatian churches were founded by Paul on his first visit, when he was detained among them by sickness, (Galatians 4:13) during his second missionary journey, about A.D. 51. He visited them again on his third missionary tour.

NT Galatians of France not Asia Minor

As we've shown above, Asia Minor Galatia was a colony of Celtic Gaul (France). The headquarters of Gaul was comprised of a chief Celtic Tribe in the first Century called the Carnutes, who had countless unique Israelite practices. It is common sense that some of Paul's trips were to the Galatia of the West all Romans spoke about, France's Galatia, not Turkey's. There is much more information, but these are some interesting quotes we wanted to share in this study for today. We know the scriptures say Paul went to Greece, Italy (Rome), and Spain. To make that travel to Spain he would have had to go through the well known Gaul FRANCE!

The map on the next page shows the extent of the Roman Empire and the excellent, hard surfaced road system available to travelers in the time of Paul and Joseph of Arimathea. It has been photographically reproduced from THE STORY OF THE ANCIENT NATIONS, published in 1912 by William L. Westermann, Associate Professor in History at the University of Wisconsin, as a High School text-book. (notice how you could travel literally anywhere, quite easily. By horse carriage you could  travel from the British Channel to Palestine *Israel* within a couple of days in Jesus’ days. Explains more where he was during his missing 18 years!)

The first century Jewish historian offers us a most interesting comment on these northern tribes of Israel in his monumental work, The Antiquities of the Jews:

"Wherefore there are but two tribes in Asia and Europe subject to the Romans, while the ten tribes are beyond the Euphrates till now, and are an immense multitude, and not to be estimated by numbers" (11.133).

All these people they were ministering to were of the lost twelve Tribes of Israel. Only a small fraction of the tribe of Judah was in Palestine. The rest of the Tribe of Judah and the other eleven tribes were the ones Jesus came to save first.

Matt 15:24 "But He answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel."

Act 26:7 "Unto which promise our twelve tribes, instantly serving God day and night, hope to come. For which hope's sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews."

Jam 1:1 "James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting."

Romans 9:4-5 reads, "the ADOPTION pertains to Israel... and for their FLESH Christ came"
Matt 10:6 reads, "go not to the other ETHNICITIES but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel"

The same bride of the old testament is the same bride of the new testament and we are reading one complete book God's word to His people called the bible. We must realize our people are called to return back to the God of Our Fathers, to repent, turn from our sin and serve the Living God.

There is also much more to study on surrounding issues as laid out in the scripture in God's Kingdom Message to His Elected People.
