Importance of Praise

â€œEnter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”  Psalms 100:4

Praise is the next step after being thankful. Thanksgiving takes an acknowledgement or “counting our blessings”, naming them one by one. After we acknowledge the great things God has given us and are thankful for them we come closer to putting them into use. It is like digging a tool out of your pocket, so you’re now able to use it, or PRAISE by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Praise is the word “halal” in the original, meaning: to shine. We are called lights to the world, so let us bring the light to surface, or shine the greatness of our God victoriously in a dark and lost world.

We have many deep studies and vast material on the scriptures and teachings of praise. I’m sure your spirit bears witness with my spirit, and the Holy Spirit, and can see the value of renewing your mind in these teachings. Yes, “Having put off the old man, putting on the new man that is renewed in the knowledge of the image of Him that created him”  If you feel richly fulfilled by these deeper studies and teachings, what  better time to recharge your spirit than with our Sabbath broadcasts. Through regular worship services, even online, it can provide enough spiritual food to meditate on, to last the week! However, that is only for those without a home church. Everyone listening should endeavor to expand into a local assembly. We do also recommend mid-week Bible Gatherings.

Many verses tell us to Praise God. 1John 4:7-8 says God is Love, so showing Love is one form of praising God.

Now lets put praise in its’ primary biblical context “Praising His Name”

Psa 44:8 "In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah."

Psa 113:1 "Praise ye the LORD. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD."

Psa 135:1 "Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the name of the LORD; praise Him, O ye servants of the LORD."

If you lookup the word ‘Name’, or ‘shem’ in the original, it is also the word for ‘character’ or ‘nature’. So “shine the character / nature of God” If you’re being “renewed in the knowledge of the image” and are in hour long bible studies  on these levels of understanding I believe you’ll witness a great outpouring of the spirit few people understand. The Bible tells us not to look at what is seen as it is only temporal, but look to the unseen which is eternal. We’re to “let this mind be in you that is also in Christ” to believe like Christ, walk like Christ, talk like Christ, “Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.” 1 John 4:17.

As you can see we can camp out on any of these verses and have powerful and liberating Holy Spirit filled studies, realizations and experiences.

Lets break down this verse “as He is” if you know English this clearly is present tense, and refers to exactly how Jesus Christ is right now. Well where is He ? He’s in heaven ruling and reigning, victorious, resurrected, perfect. He is doing great, he is above all power and principality, all power has been given to Him in heaven and in earth; nothing can hinder Him. We can all be at least 2/3 there while we seek Him with all our heart. “I will be found of them that seek Me with all their heart” Our bodies are the last to reach the heavens when He returns, yet the inherent abilities, legal position, and the Helper, the Holy Spirit when we yield to the word can exemplify and Praise the name of God. Not only in the moment, but on the full example of our lives as Christians, with a legacy to leave behind. Showing loyalty is one form of praise, Such as showing Loyalty to Generations of Christian Grandparents.

Yes, our spirit, soul and bodies can get more spiritually intune when singing biblical hymns, choruses, psalms, or making your own song as you go along your day singing “I love you Lord!” melodies and other thanksgiving psalms to God out of your heart with your own words, singing a new song, being joyful as part of “praying without ceasing” and “His praise continually being in our mouth” “Praising Him all day long” Being positive, operating in Love, Joy, and peace is the key. Realize those around you are either going to get Christ soon or already are with Christ.  Have faith in others just as Jesus Christ had faith in us when He gave Himself up for us that we would find Him. He in his mercy showed us love so we might also love Him, and receive Him.

The next time you read the Bible about anything concerning the believer, try stopping right there, praying and thanking God for it. Speaking what God has given establishes it in your heart, it renews it in your mind to achieve it in your life, and results in your Praising of Him, the word, the truth, the light.
