Republicans Have The Football,

But?

The Republicans won a resounding victory in the last election. They said to the American people who were weary of a “do nothing Congress”: “Give us the football, put Republicans in office and we will make some necessary changes and bring in prosperity.”  But haven’t we heard that cry before?  It is true that for the past 40 plus years or so, the Democrats have had a majority in Congress, even though Republicans were able to elect a Republican president. But ever since we have had a two party system, the failure of one party to do what it promised, always led to the election of a president from the opposing party.  Now that the Republicans have the football, do they know what to do with it? Oh they have promised great things. But do they ever give any evidence that they know what to do to correct some of the evils that afflict our country?  Why is it that which ever party we elect to Congress to administer the affairs of our country for the good of “We the people,” nothing of any consequence ever seems to come from their efforts to effect a change for the better?

As much as I hate to say it, America is no longer the land of the free and the home of the brave. We are the unwitting slaves of the people who control our money. And until our leaders wake up and recognize this, and to something about it, nothing can or will be done to eliminate poverty in the midst of plenty, or to balance our national budget.  The borrower is debtor to the creditor!  Meyer Amschel Rothschild recognized this back in 1790 when he declared, “Give me the power to control the money of a nation, and I care not who makes its laws.”

Like zombies and men out of mind, the Congress of these United States has delegated the issuance of our nation’s money to a private money monopoly which profits off of debt. In order to get money with which to run our country we must first borrow it from the Fed, and secure that loan with a bonded mortgage on which we must pay interest. Where did the banks get all this money? They issued it at the time of the loan against the credit and wealth of these United States. Yet the Constitution provides that Congress shall issue its own money against the same credit used by the banks, but without debt or interest!

Who Has Control of Our Money?

For over 90 years we have been running our country on borrowed money. Borrowed money serves the same purpose as money that is issued without debt, but after it is spent, we must pay it back, plus the interest. As a result of this wicked and insane practice, the American people must work about 5 months out of every year just to pay the interest and taxes resulting from our national debt. We are being led like sheep to the slaughter. You cannot pay off debts with borrowed money. To put it in other words, you cannot borrow yourself out of debt. But is not this what Congress is proposing to do?  Many talk glibly about balancing the budget. I ask, What with?  Unless money is issued and spent into circulation free of interest and debt, there is no money with which to do it!

When the money we have borrowed is spent, there is a short supply with which to run the country. Because money is scarce, business and production are curtailed until we go deeper in debt and borrow some more. As I have said, we have been doing this for some 90 years and our credit is running out. The last money borrowed by Congress has largely been spent and we are experiencing an economic bind and this is the cause of a recession in some areas. It is useless to produce and try to create jobs if no money is made available with which to buy. At the present time we are trying to make one million, shall we say, do the work of a hundred million. To do this we cut back needed programs here and there. People are thrown out of work through no fault of theirs.

And we are submitting to this charade as though there was nothing we could do about it!

Has America Been Led Into Confusion?

But there is much more to the developing crisis than this. Unbeknown to the great majority of our people, America is God’s country. The people who came here from  England and Western Europe to found and to build this country are the once “lost sheep of the house of Israel.” We are the great nation that was to be established in the “Top of the mountains,” or chief among the nations, as per the covenant promises of God to Abraham and his seed. Note Genesis 12:1-3 and Isaiah 2:2-4. Not only do the Republicans need to get back to the Constitution to effect any needed change, they and this whole nation need to get back to God and abide by His Word and Law. 

In case you did not know it, the national future of this country does not rest on what the Republican party does, or does not do. It has already been determined by Almighty God. When God created man and gave him dominion over the earth, He did not do so without a purpose. And no man or devil has been able to thwart that purpose. And what was that?  Not to know what God has been doing these past six thousand years led to untold confusion. Sin is often presented as something that entered the world contrary to the will of God, but live found a way. The Lord became flesh and dwelt among us that He might die to take our place and make atonement for sin.  And for the past 2,000 years God would seem to be making an unsuccessful attempt to get people to accept salvation through faith in His name. People are encouraged to accept this salvation that they might escape hell and go to heaven when they die. But is this what life on this planet is all about?

What Are Our Ultimate Goals?

Does the Bible teach that heaven or hell are the ultimate goal of all men? Just when was this hell we hear so much about created?  Before man sinned? Or after? It is to be regretted that the words sheol, hades and gehenna, have been mistranslated “hell,”and given a meaning foreign to the Scriptures. Sheol and hades are set forth in the Scriptures as the place of the dead, period! I point this out, here, because the great preponderance of modern theology centers around this mistaken concept of biblical teaching, and it is the primary reason why our politicians in Washington are groping like blind men. We are not here minimizing the need and the importance of personal salvation, but it needs to be preached in its proper perspective. The burden of our Lord’s ministry was the kingdom for which He taught us to pray in which the will of God would be done on earth as it is in heaven. This kingdom is the subject of the prophets.  Israel (which is not Jewish!) who had been divorced and carried captive out of their land, was to be gathered and redeemed, and remarried to God. And this was all to take place in preparation for the Kingdom of God on earth.  For the past 2,000 years God has been saving people in preparation for the Kingdom Age. And the new birth, or a saving faith in Christ, is God’s prerequisite to kingdom citizenship. And the reward of faithfulness is not a mansion in heaven, but the right to rule with Christ in His kingdom. (Luke 19: 11-26)

Does Knowledge of Our Faith Impact on Politics?

And what does all this have to do with what the new administration does?  Much in every  way. The Republicans, or any other political group, are not free to take the way that seems right unto them – which is largely what they have been doing. They need to see that the kingdom which God is building, centers in America, the land of all gathered tribes of Israel, and that we are the beginning of the restoration of the kingdom of God. God is not getting a people ready to leave the earth, but to live in righteousness upon it!  At the present time our leaders labor under the delusion that our national destiny is wrapped up in the misguided effort of an organization called the United Nations. It is something man is doing without thought of the will and purpose of God. It but reminds us of the words of Psalm 127 :1, “Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vein that build it.”

Personal as Well as National Salvation

The people of Christiandom have been fed so long on the message of personal salvation to the almost utter exclusion of the kingdom and the “national” message of the Bible, they have lost the Divine perspective of things. And having supplanted the Israel of the Bible with the Jew, a religious sect; much of Bible prophecy is lost to their understanding. Like the foolish virgins of Matt. 25: 1-10, they are beating their drums and trimming their lamps in anticipation of the soon return of Christ, but they have mistaken the purpose of His coming. They see no need of a National awakening and a national repentance. Everything centers in a so-called Gentile church which they expect to be raptured momentarily.

It is to be regretted that when men in Congress go to church, or to evangelistic campaigns, they hear almost nothing about national sin, and the need of national repentance. They are fed milk and pablum and go beck to their offices none the wiser of their need of ruling under God. If they have made their peace with God, it matters not what they do in Congress.

They can sin against God with both hands without a twinge of conscience because they see no Law of God that they are violating. This is a sad state of affairs to be in, in an hour when we need to know the Truth that will set us free.  When and if we Pray for our leaders, political and religious, ask that God would open their eyes to see and their ears to hear.
