2010-11-16 Van der Lith, Blomerus and Henna, murdered with worker, Louis Trichardt, LI farm 2010-11-16 LOUIS TRICHARDT, LIMPOPO – A gruesome scene greeted a man who wanted to purchase cattle-feed from a local farmer: instead he found the body of a murdered worker – and after alerting the SAPS, the tortured bodies of farmer Pieter Blomerus (Blom) van der Lith, 65, and his wife Henna were also found. --------------------------- ---------------------- Marietie Louw-Carstens reports in Beeld newspaper that the murdered worker’s name has not yet been published pending notification of kin. SAPS spokeswoman Lt.kol. Ronel Otto said the triple-massacre probably took place over the weekend. Nothing seemed stolen. Mr Van der Lith ‘s Toyota Land Cruiser was parked 20 metres from his body – which was tied up to water-pipes leading to the farm dam. Police provided no details of the manner in which the farm-worker was found. The triple-murders occurred about two weeks after the murders of Johan and Annelise Greyvensteyn of Musina/Messina on 4 November. Their tortured bodies were found inside their bakkie on their smallholding. The Transvaal Agricultural Union’s spokeswoman Ms Marie Helm said they were deeply shocked about the murders.
