Volunteers v Conscripts
I have a view to put to you all, comments will hopefully flow.
With Rememberance Day fast approaching I want to express little sympathy with today's servicemen and women in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Why? Well think on this.
All service people today are willing and presumably educated volunteers, there is no conscription. Questions..... Would you willingly enter any employment where you knew in advance that you would be working directly under the orders of proven crooks, criminals, potential murderers and liars? Employers who bang on about the terror from outside, when it is actually inside. Would you willingly work for a firm who would tell you to maim and kill on command, knowing it had little to do with actually defending your country? At the same time risking a good chance of injury or death to yourself. All of us in employment, as they do, know the terms and conditions of their prospective employer in advance and before you sign on the dotted line. The Armed Forces are no different. Nobody is pressganged or forced to enlist anymore. So, while I have every sympathy for those who fell for the freedom of their country in the two World Wars, against invasion and enslavement, I feel that, these days, the only thing the nation should sign up for is to defeat the tyranny from within. My message to the forces..... wise up now, look at your employers, question their motives, look at what you are being ordered to do and why. Is it worth the salary? The reality is.... it is only a job and we all have a choice.
