DJ Paul v.Vuuren found murdered

Well-known Phalaborwa dj and music businessman Paul van Vuuren, 55, was strangled to death in his own bathtub, then bagged and dumped at a Dalmada Pietersburg smallholding --  200km away  Oct 27 2011 - PIETERSBURG The body which was found in black plastic bags on a Pietersburg smallholding,  was identified as well-known SA dj and music artist Paul van Vuuren.            Beeld journalist Marietie Louw-Carstens wrote that 55-year-old Van Vuuren was last seen alive last Tuesday. His corpse was moved inside his own trailer from Phalaborwa to Pietersburg. His sister Karlien Oosthuizen said it is suspected that her brother was attacked at his home and opened the door to his murderers because there are no signs of breakins. Mr Van Vuuren was a friend of the well-known Afrikanaans entertainers/singers Sunette Bridges and Helene Bester.     Mrs. Karlien Oosthuizen, Van Vuuren ‘s sister, wrote on Ms Bridges’ face book page: “Another statistic… my brother has been cruelly murdered. His body was moved from Phalaborwa to Pietersburg in his own trailer.”  Ms Bridges described her friend’s murder as gruesome, horribly heartbreaking and most of us are way past Gatvol.’   He was strangled to death in his bathtub with cables…  His sister said she was at his house, and noticed that the bathtub is still covered in blood, there are bloodied drag-marks in his room.. that's probably the way the dragged in around the house.' There also were cables attached to the taps of the bathtub which were probably used to strangle him to death.”   After he was (apparently tortured to death), the Afrikaner artist 's body was dumped in several plastic bags and loaded into his own trailer which was attached to his white Volkswagen Golf.  "The house was locked up behind the murderers and they drove off with him. I am dumb-founded, shocked about what happened.'  Man arrested, identified as Lesley Ubisi   SAPS lt-col Ronel Otto said a man identified as Lesley Ubisi was arrested for the murder in the township Lulekani, near Phalaborwa.     He appeared in the court for a remand date on Wednesday and will be charged with murder.  Police seek another suspect. Mrs Oosthuizen said Ubisi had been her brother's gardener.  The corpse was discovered by residents at the smallholding who had smelled a stench.     Mrs Oosthuizen said everyone in Phalaborwa knew her brother.
