Charter for the Protection and Recognition of Celtic Communities

Presented by the Orthodox Church of the Culdees

This Charter is a formal declaration by the Orthodox Church of the Culdees, through the Priory of Salem Institute of Peace Studies, affirming the identity, rights, and recognition of Celtic Christian communities globally—particularly those living under diaspora conditions.

Preamble

In acknowledgment of the continued cultural, spiritual, and economic oppression of Celtic-descended peoples and in the interest of promoting lasting peace, dignity, and lawful restoration, we present this Charter for formal acceptance and endorsement by fellow religious bodies, institutions, municipalities, and international organizations.

Core Declarations

• Recognition: We affirm the Celtic Christian community as a distinct ethno-religious group with ancestral and ecclesiastical continuity.
• Protection: We seek enforcement of legal and social protections against cultural erasure, speech suppression, and institutional exclusion.
• Restoration: We call for the restoration of rightful representation in public, religious, and educational spaces based on traditional titles, tribal lines, and ecclesiastical heritage.
• Spiritual Freedom: The full free exercise of Orthodox Celtic Christian worship and practice shall not be infringed upon or penalized in any jurisdiction or forum.

Implementing Bodies

This Charter is maintained by the Orthodox Church of the Culdees under the ministry of its Prince-Abbot Primace and Trustees. It is upheld by:

• The Priory of Salem, Institute of Peace Studies
• The Templar Order – Brunswick Commandery (for humanitarian applications)
• Partner churches and cultural agencies maintaining recognition agreements

Signatories and Supporters

Institutions and persons of goodwill are invited to publicly or privately endorse this Charter in support of Celtic community advocacy. Formal recognition may be extended through ecclesiastical blessing, joint resolutions, or institutional covenants.
