WE NEED TO PRAY AND TO FAST FOR THESE TIMES WE ARE IN Christ said we would do the fasting again as the Pharisees did often.
Confession and Repentance are key parts. We have several Penitent Psalms that can be done, and help guides in the prayer book.
If you don’t keep Lent, do something else in secret before YAHWEH. However don’t feel condemned as it says in Romans 8:1 “there is NO CONDEMNATION to those in Christ…”
Most of Christendom now marks the 40 Days of Fasting before our high Christian festival of Passover (some now on wrong calendar, some keeping it on the right calendar, as has been known and documented in the Celtic church East and West with a good protest against Rome). As it was in Israel times, often there’s many periods of fasting and preparations for the holy days. We are admonished many times to fast and pray and only that way to defeat many spiritual and national problems:
[Mat 9:14-15 KJV] 14 “Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not? 15 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.”
[Joe 2:12 KJV] 12 Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye [even] to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:
[Mat 17:21 KJV] 21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
[Mar 9:29 KJV] 29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
[Act 10:30 KJV] 30 And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,
[1Co 7:5 KJV] 5 Defraud ye not one the other, except [it be] with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.
[Mat 6:18 KJV] 18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
